Driver Drowsiness Detection
Applied Deep Learning
A real-time computer vision system that detects driver fatigue from a webcam feed. It tracks facial landmarks to monitor eye closure and yawning, then triggers an alert when signs of drowsiness are detected.
- ▸Extracted 468 facial landmarks per frame with MediaPipe Face Mesh for robust face and eye tracking
- ▸Computed Eye Aspect Ratio (EAR) and Mouth Aspect Ratio (MAR) as features to quantify blinking and yawning
- ▸Trained and evaluated a scikit-learn classifier to separate alert and drowsy states
- ▸Processed live video with OpenCV and triggered real-time visual and audio alerts
